Alaska Marine HighwayThe Bellingham Cruise Terminal in Fairhaven is the southern starting point for the Alaska Marine Highway System. Once a week, on Fridays (year-round), the ferry departs from Bellingham taking passengers and vehicles to Alaska. This is the nation's first marine Scenic Highway and it takes passengers as far as the Aleutian Islands. The Cruise Terminal also offers convenient access to taxis, Amtrak, Greyhound and local bus service, Alaska, Victoria and San Juan Island ferry transportation, all in one location. The ferry terminal and visitor information center are adjacent to the historic Fairhaven district.
