Fiber Optic Network

The Port of Bellingham has installed a fiber optic infrastructure that provides a world-class communications system for its development properties. Known as the High Technology Communications Infrastructure it was installed to benefit high technology companies and companies in need of high-tech capabilities. The HTCI improves access to communications and information systems in Whatcom County.

The Port of Bellingham work in partnership with CSS and OpenAccess, Bellingham-based Internet Service Providers in providing Port tenants and others with access to high speed Internet connectivity throughout Port facilities and properties directly from the FiberCloud data center.

The fiber optic network can provide users with up to 100 Mb of direct connectivity to the Internet. High-speed wireless solutions will provide extensive last mile connectivity in buildings where no other high-speed access is available.
