Port Announces Winners from Northwest Washington Fair
[Bellingham, Wash.] For most people, visiting the Northwest Washington Fair represented a chance to see farm animals up-close and indulge in curly fries and moowiches, but for a lucky few, it was an opportunity to win free airline tickets.
Those who stopped by the Port of Bellingham’s booth at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden, had the opportunity to not only learn more about the Port and its operations but a chance to win free airfare just by signing up to receive the Port’s electronic newsletter.
Four lucky fair-goers each received two round-trip air travel certificates courtesy of Allegiant Air and Horizon Airlines. The winners who get to fly free to Las Vegas on Allegiant Air are Vivian Hruska and Shirley Assink, both from Bellingham, and Gail Parbon of Ferndale. Wendy Kramme from Lynden won free airfare for anywhere Horizon Air flies.
More people are choosing to fly out of Bellingham International Airport—an easy alternative to the endless I-5 traffic, parking and other big city hassles. Three commercial carriers have multiple flights out of Bellingham making business or leisure travel convenient and less stressful.
This is the second year that the Port has participated with a booth at the fair. As part of its community outreach program, having a presence at the fair gives the Port an opportunity to meet people and tell them about the many diverse operations and countywide services.
If you missed the fair and want to sign up for the newsletter visit the Port’s website and click on the link to subscribe to the newsletter at www.portofbellingham.com.
The Port of Bellingham operates Whatcom County’s major transportation terminals including the Bellingham Airport, Fairhaven Transportation Station and the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. The Port also serves about 2,000 moorage customers in its Blaine and Squalicum Harbors.
In addition, about 300 businesses operate on Port properties, which are managed by the Port Real Estate Division. The Port of Bellingham is a countywide independent special purpose government.
