Horizon Air Bringing Larger Aircraft to Bellingham
New Aircraft Carries 74 Passengers
[Seattle, Wash.] Today Horizon Air announced it will be bringing larger aircraft to Bellingham for its most popular Bellingham flights, beginning in March.
Select flights currently operated with 37-seat Q200 turboprops will be replaced with 74-seat Q400 turboprops.
Beginning on March 18, the current schedule of eight flights with Q200s will be replaced with three flights operated with Q400s and four with Q200s. The larger aircraft will boost the overall number of seats on the route by 25 percent.More than 6,700 passengers a month fly out of Bellingham International Airport aboard Horizon Air to SeaTac International Airport in Seattle.
The larger aircraft will be used on the following Bellingham flights, which tend to fill quickly:
Bellingham to Seattle:
2479 - departing at 5:45 a.m. and arriving at 6:25 a.m.
2487 – departing at 11:20 a.m. and arriving at 11:59 a.m.
2489 – departing at 1:50 p.m. and arriving at 2:30 p.m.
Seattle to Bellingham:
2486 – departing at 10:10 a.m. and arriving at 10:50 a.m.
2488 – departing at 12:37 p.m. and arriving at 1:15 p.m.
2478 – departing at 10:55 p.m. and arriving at 11:35 p.m.
Horizon made the Bellingham announcement at the same time it announced it will be using the larger aircraft for selected flights in Pasco, Kamloops, Kelowna and Victoria.
The Q400 flies at nearly jet aircraft speed, and it is a relatively quiet aircraft, which has been appreciated and recognized by communities Horizon serves. Horizon operates 20 Q400 aircraft, and has an additional 12 on order for delivery starting in late 2006.
