New Port Commissioner Takes Office
Commission Elects 2010 Officers

[Bellingham, Wash.] At their first meeting of the year, new Port of Bellingham Commissioner Michael McAuley was sworn in to office and chosen to serve as the board's Vice President for 2010.

Whatcom County Auditor Shirley Forslof administered the oath of office to McAuley and returning Commissioner Scott Walker.

The Commission voted to select Commissioner Jim Jorgensen to serve as Commission President and Walker to serve as Commission Secretary for 2010.

At the same meeting, the Commissioners decide who would serve on key community boards. They selected:
• Northwest Economic Council: Michael McAuley
• Whatcom Council of Governments: Scott Walker
• Washington Public Ports Association: Scott Walker
• Whatcom County Economic Development Investment Program Committee: Jim Jorgensen
• Port Public Art Advisory Committee: Jim Jorgensen

Regularly scheduled Commission meetings in 2010 will continue to be on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 3 p.m. in the Harbor Center Conference Room, 1801 Roeder Avenue.
