City Planning Commission Work Sessions and Comment Review Underway
Following the public hearings, the Planning Commission has begun work sessions to receive information and have discussion on details of the waterfront planning documents. These meetings will be at 7 p.m. on Thursdays at Bellingham City Hall.

While the plan is undergoing Planning Commission review, it is important that all public comments on the plan be submitted to the City, rather than the Port, so that they can become part of the official record.

At this meeting, staff gave an overview of the Master Plan/Subarea Plan and the related planning documents. This presentation kicked-off the public review of the planning documents that were submitted in December 2012.

Dec. 17, 2012 Legislative Process for Waterfront District Draft Plans Begins
On December 17, 2012, Port and City staff provided the full package of Waterfront District draft planning documents and agreements to the City's Planning and Community Development Department in preparation for the legislative process.
The Waterfront District Draft Subarea Plan and associated documents will
be reviewed by the Bellingham Planning Commission prior to final
consideration by the Bellingham City Council and Port Commission. The
Planning Commission's review and public hearing process is scheduled to
begin in Spring 2013.
