Public Works
"Public work" means all work, construction, alteration, repair, or improvement other than ordinary maintenance, executed at the cost of the state or of any municipality, or which is by law a lien or charge on any property therein. All public works, including maintenance when performed by contract shall comply with chapter 39.12 RCW (Prevailing Wages).
The Port of Bellingham contracts for Public Works in accordance with RCW 53.08.120 and RCW 39.04 in the following ways:

The Port of Bellingham is authorized to contract in accordance with RCW 53.08.120(2)(c) and may also solicit from a list of contractors on the Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) Small Works Roster for projects estimated under $300K. To be eligible to work on Small Works Roster projects, contractors must register for FREE at www.mrscrosters.org and select the Port of Bellingham in your account. If you are already a member of MRSC Rosters, simply select Port of Bellingham in your account. For registration questions, please contact MRSC Rosters at mrscrosters@mrsc.org or 206-436-3798.
Formal Bids
The Port of Bellingham follows a formal bidding process for all projects estimated over $300K. Projects are advertised in the Bellingham Herald “Public Notices” section and other journals as necessary depending on the project. Click here to search for Formal Bids.

All successful service providers will be required to execute the Port's Public Works Contract.
