The Blaine Wharf District Master Plan is intended to be updated every five to 10 years, as needed, to respond to changing conditions or evolving community goals. This amendment captures progress made to date since 2007, proposes modifications to Planning Area 6 and 7 boundaries, clarifies permitted uses in Area 7 and proposes a change to the conceptual Wharf loop trail by eliminating that segment that bifurcated Planning Areas 6 and 7.
The Blaine City Council docketed this proposed comprehensive plan amendment in August of 2019. The Blaine Planning Commission held a public hearing on December 23, 2019 at which time the Planning Commission recommendation was tabled for further discussion. The next Planning Commission meeting to discuss the proposed update to the Wharf District Master plan is scheduled for February 13, 2020 at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The deliberations will take place at the City Council Chambers located at 435 Martin Street, Suite 4000, Blaine, WA 98230.
