COVID-19 Coronavirus Travel Info

While Bellingham International Airport (BLI) is not a gateway airport for non-stop arrivals from countries that are hard hit by the Coronavirus, the information below can help you travel through BLI, and other airports, in a safer way.

Bellingham International Airport actions

BLI follows the guidance provided by public health experts at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), State of Washington Department of Health and the Whatcom County Health Department. We are supporting federal, state, and local agencies that operate at the airport.

While BLI has an excellent reputation for cleanliness, we are:

  • Increasing our use of disinfectant and cleaning more frequently in what we call “high touch” areas at the airport, like handrails, restroom surfaces, water fountains, etc. We are also working with our cleaning supply vendors to ensure the products we use are effective against Coronavirus.
  • Ensure our restrooms are adequately stocked and supplying hand santinazers.
  • Coordinating with our airline and tenant partners and employees to closely monitor any change in the status of our region’s health.
  • Encouraging employees and tenant employees to wash their hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.

How you can stay healthy

Public health officials recommend personal hygiene and frequent hand washing as the best way to prevent illness.

  • Wash your hands frequently, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick and stay home when sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid non-essential travel to China, South Korea, Italy and other hard hit areas.
  • Check-in with your airline if you have questions about your travel itinerary.
