Bellingham International Airport actions:
Following the CDC’s recommendation’s to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in public areas, the Bellingham International Airport is recommending face coverings for all passengers, employees and visitors at the commercial passenger terminal. Face coverings are not required for airport users under the age of two (2), anyone that has trouble breathing or cannot remove face coverings on their own accord. The Port of Bellingham is committed to the safety and well-being of our staff, passengers and community.

BLI follows the guidance provided by public health experts at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), State of Washington Department of Health and the Whatcom County Health Department. We are supporting federal, state, and local agencies that operate at the airport.  Additional and up-to-date information can be found on the State's website at https://coronavirus.wa.gov

While BLI has an excellent reputation for cleanliness, we are:
Increasing our use of disinfectant and cleaning more frequently in what we call “high touch” areas at the airport, like handrails, restroom surfaces, water fountains, etc. We are also working with our cleaning supply vendors to ensure the products we use are effective against Coronavirus.

  • Coordinating with our airline and tenant partners and employees to closely monitor any change in the status of our region’s health.
  • Encouraging employees and tenant employees to wash their hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.

How you can stay healthy:
Public health officials recommend personal hygiene and frequent hand washing as the best way to prevent illness.

  • Wash your hands frequently, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick and stay home when sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Check-in with your airline if you have questions about your travel itinerary.
