Washington residents can now use a “Phase Finder” tool from the Department of Health to find out if they are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine. The tool shows where you can get the vaccine and information to call and schedule an appointment. People not yet eligible can sign up to get an email or text alert when they are eligible.
Vaccines are being rolled out in phases starting with those most at risk for COVID-19 infection. Washington State is now increasing the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine and expanding eligibility beyond health care workers, first responders, and long-term care facility staff and residents. Eventually there will enough vaccine for everyone in Washington.
“Whatcom County residents should closely monitor their eligibility for the Covid-19 vaccine using information on the Phase Finder tool and Department of Health website, and get the vaccine as soon as they become eligible” said Port of Bellingham Emergency Management/Security Officer Scott McCreery. “Widespread vaccinations are critical to saving lives, allowing businesses to re-open without restrictions, strengthening consumer confidence and accelerating our economic recovery.”
McCreery recently returned to the Port after the Port donated his time to lead response efforts at Whatcom Unified Command, a multi-agency, county-wide response team coordinating Whatcom County’s response to the global pandemic.
