Bellingham SeaFeast Hires Program Director to Oversee Popular Waterfront Event

The Bellingham SeaFeast Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kevin Coleman has been hired to serve as Program Director. Mr. Coleman takes over the reins of this increasingly popular event which celebrates Whatcom County’s rich maritime heritage, thriving working waterfront, commercial fishing and seafood industries, and the culinary bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

“Kevin Coleman is the ideal candidate to serve as Director for Bellingham SeaFeast,” said Ginny Broadhurst, Co-Chair of Bellingham SeaFeast and Director of the Salish Sea Institute at WWU. “Kevin, recently working at Veritas Media as the Community Outreach and Sales Manager excels at team building, project management, and digital/social media marketing. He also has experience managing large events. As a member of several community boards including Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, Allied Arts, and more, Kevin brings an abundance of community connections, enthusiasm, and energy to the leadership of Bellingham SeaFeast.”

Bellingham SeaFeast, scheduled for Saturday, September 17, with support from individuals and families who comprise our maritime sector, provides a fun and safe festival for people of all ages to eat, play, and explore the abundance of our Salish Sea. Begun in 2016, the popular waterfront festival demonstrates that people are keenly interested in learning about and enjoying all things waterfront-related.

Words from Kevin: “It is such an honor to take the helm of SeaFeast. There is so much culture and history on our waterfronts that need to be showcased and taught. We live in such a beautiful area rich with native and maritime importance and I am looking forward to celebrating all of this with our community in September and beyond.”

The Board of Bellingham SeaFeast is confident that Kevin and his team will take this festival to the next level! Sea you on the shores of Bellingham Bay, Saturday, September 17, 2022, as we celebrate the Feast of our Seas. To learn more about SeaFeast please go to BellinghamSeaFeast.org
